Jen's Journey into ONEderland!

I've been overweight for as long as I can remember, but I don't let it keep me from living life to the fullest. I try my best to not put anything in life off because of my size. Life is too short!!

I know that NOW is the time for me to get my health under control. I want to do this on my own, without surgery or drugs.

I'm looking forward to meeting lots of new friends here! Feel free to give me a shout!

My Goals:
--to be healthy: lower blood sugar, correct breathing problems, strengthen my heart so it works more efficiently

--to wear a size 14

--to fit comfortably in an airplane seat so I can travel more

--to look and feel sexy

--to become stronger and more flexible

--to improve my ballroom dancing skills



My Program:
1. Tracking food in SparkPeople. Concentrating on the lower range in carbs and fat and higher range in protein

2. Cardio for a minimum of 150 minutes a week

3. Strength training 2 days per week

4. Drink a minimum of 64 oz of water a day

Personal Information:
I'm a forty-something woman living in Florida with my long-term partner (boyfriend? fiance? whatever you call them at my age!). I enjoy music, community theatre, ballroom dancing, karaoke and enjoying life with my sweetheart.

Hey I came across your post on my sparkpage and just thought I'd let you know that it really made me feel good to know that I am inspiring to someone. I have been working towards my goals for 5 and a half years now and it doesn't seem to be getting any easier I am really struggling over these last few pounds. I have not been on Spark in awhile because I have been dealing with health issues related to me not eating properly and now I am in a wheelchair as a result. Please if there is only one thing I can beg that you do while trying to lose this weight it is please eat a variety of foods while losing your weight. I got to the point where I was anorexic and only would eat certain things this caused me to now have severe nutritional deficiencies and I am learning my lesson the hard way because I am in a wheelchair due to irreversible nerve damage I can no longer feel my leg. I know it is tough when it seems like it is taking forever but take it from me slow and steady is the best way.
