Fallen but not beaten
Hello, here I am again. 4 years ago I lost 88 lbs and kept it off for a while. After I threw out my shoulder the weight slowly crept back on. I wish I could blame the shoulder but in good faith I cannot. The blame rests with me as I allowed bad habits to creep back in. I need to correct those bad habits and get my healthy lifestyle back. Update: June 14, 2011: I reached my second goal of 188! for the first 3 months of this year, I slowly put on about 7 lbs. In April I ...
In April I tried to pull in the reins but my heart was just not into it. In May I put the brakes on and lost the weight I slowly gained. I dedicated June to finally reach my goal and did it! UPDATE: Jan 4, 2010: I am still in pursuit of that 188 lbs secondary goal. Once I reach 188, I want to maintain that weight for the rest of the year and improve on my fitness level. UPDATE: I made goal on Aug 30, New weight loss goal: 188lbs by Dec 1. Progress to Date Jan 4, 2009 - 250 lbs ..... The beginning Dec 27, 2009 - 190 lbs Jan 03, 2101 - 192 lbs Jan 17, 2010 - 190 lbs Feb 28, 2010 - 193 lbs Mar 28, 2010 - 196 lbs .... Going the wrong way!!!! April 24, 2010 197 lbs .... It ends here!!!! May 30, 2010 190 lbs June 14, 2010 188 lbs .... GOAL! UPDATE: I was shell shocked Sunday morning Thanksgiving weekend 2011. I hadn't weighed my self in awhile and was shocked at what the scale read. Now, December is not my favorite month to lose weight, but I was faced with not willing to gain weight in December too so I vowed to lose 10 lbs by Christmas. I lost 12 lbs on Dec 20 2011, so I made that goal. BUT between Christmas and New Year I let things slip again and regained 5 lbs back. (That's why I wasn't willing to wait, I knew Christmas is a big temptation for me) For the new year I reset my ticker to lose 15 lbs. So ..... Stay tuned How can you not be inspired from the words of this song: I hope you never lose your sense of wonder May you get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger May you never take one single breath for granted God forbid love ever leave you empty handed I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens Promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance I hope you dance ..... I hope you dance ---- Lee Ann Womack My number 1 motivational song to get me moving when I don't feel like it is: (Don't laugh) Put one foot in front of the other And soon you’ll be walking cross the floor Put one foot in front of the other And soon you’ll be walking out the door You never will get where you’re going If you never get up on your feet Come on, there’s a good tail wind blowing A fast walking man is hard to beat Put one foot in front of the other And soon you’ll be walking cross the floor Put one foot in front of the other And soon you’ll be walking out the door If you want to change your direction If your time of life is at hand Well don’t be the rule be the exception A good way to start is to stand Put one foot in front of the other And soon you’ll be walking cross the floor Put one foot in front of the other And soon you’ll be walking out the door If I want to change the reflection I see in the mirror each morn You mean that it's just my election To vote for a chance to be reborn

My Goals:
I am healthy and weigh 188 lbs. Goal for week of Jan 10-17: Week 1 of the new Year I was mostly sick so for week 2 I want to reestablish my routine, 3 strength training sessions and at least 4 cardio sessions. I want to reduce my dependency of high blood pressure and cholesterol lowering drugs.
My Program:
Keep track of what I eat, and restrict calories t0 reasonable limits. Get a walk in 6 days out of 7. Use my Total gym for strength exercises 3 times a week. Enjoy other recreational activities basketball, volleyball.
Personal Information:
I have struggled with weight most of my life and I bet I have taken it off and regained it several times. Dieting and taking the weight off is not hard, keeping it off is.
Other Information:
The difference between success and failure is not dramatic. In fact, the difference between success and failure is so subtle. most people miss it. They hold the philosophy that what they do really doesn't matter. THE TRUTH IS. WHAT YOU DO MATTERS. WHAT YOU DO TODAY MATTERS. WHAT YOU DO EVERY DAY MATTERS. Those little things that will make you successful in life. that will secure your health, your happiness, your fulfillment, your dreams, are simple, subtle, tiny things that nobody will see, nobody will applaud, nobody will even notice. They are those things that at the time you do them, often feel like they make absolutely no difference... like they don't matter. THEY DO. A passage from the book "The Slight Edge"
