I am 58 and a mother of 3 , grandmother of 9 and have battled with my weight my whole life. I married the love of my life at 16 and lost him a little over at year ago to cancer, just one week short of our 40th. I work full time and live alone now. My children are all within 30 miles from me in all different directions but visit often. I married the love of my life at 16 and lost him a little over at year ago to cancer, just one week short of our 40th. I work full time and live alone now. My children are all within 30 miles from me in all different directions but visit often. I don't drive so walk 20 minutes the bus stop to go to work or town etc.The most I've ever weighted is 298 pounds and the least in the last 40 years was 163 pounds after being realy sick and in hospital for an operation and not being able to eat for several weeks...lost too much too fast and it was not a good thing...would now like to get below 200 the healthy way..slow and steady and by eating right and exercising. Today is May 1st. and my offical start date for this chapter in my life. I have promised myself little rewards when I reach my mini goals and will weigh-in once a week - on Sundays - Yesterday was hard , 2 of my children, their spouses and 5 of my grandchildren were in for a few hours and one grandson stayed the night and went home after lunch today, I am proud of myself because usually when family and kids are here I tend to eat the junk food along with them. I am a junk-food junkie and even though the kids all got their Easter baskets from Gramie and the adults got their chocolate rabbits [ was sick over Easter and did not allow them to come here] I had nothing, I even passed up the chocolate which for me is a BIG deal as I have been addicted to chocolate 57 out of my 58 years. The grandson who stayed will be 13 this month and had brough a bag of cheesies for us to share as we watched tv but I had a banana instead ... feeling very motivated and positive right now and it will be 1 week tomorrow since my last bite of chocolate aiming for 2 weeks and I know I CAN DO IT.
