I'm back!!!!!

I joined over a year ago and although I did lose some weight at the beginning I fell off track due to a few surgeries and gained a good bit of my weight back, partly due to steroids, but partly because I just stopped caring and trying for a while. After an accident in February that broke my arm and then a nasty bout of stomach flu I started losing weight again. I'm now back to where I was before i fell off the weight loss wagon. After an accident in February that broke my arm and then a nasty bout of stomach flu I started losing weight again. I'm now back to where I was before i fell off the weight loss wagon. So now I'm trying hard to stay on track and to really stick with it. I've been tracking my food and walking again. Doesn't sound like much but after almost a year of nothing it was a big step. My husband is once again in Iraq (5th tour) and a lot of other things are going on but I'm hoping to use losing weight and walking as something I'm doing just for me, sort of my private time-thing to help keep myself busy and motivated at the same time. I took a class and finished my internship right before breaking my arm (timing is everything right?? *L*) and passed my National Exam a few weeks ago. I've submitted my packet to the state for review and approval so now its just a waiting thing. I've always been a mom and wife and now I'm starting to figure out where I belong in this big old world. Its scary and exciting at the same time. I really hope to get fully back into the whole Spark World. I really need the support and encouragement and someone to share my successes with and to push me when I slip. I really want to look healthier when my husband gets home that I did when he left. Of course it won't take much to beat not having use of one of my arms because it was in a sling *LOL*.

Hi Jeannie,

Thanks so much for the tips. By tracking EVERYTHING I eat it's been helping me to understand the amount of food I thought I needed to be full when in reality I was just gorging myself. So I too am now understanding portion control. I am so thankful for this website it's doing wonders!! Thank you so much for all your support!
