I use to be a regular on SparkPeople. It really helped me with the food journal, and our family support group. Unfortunately I have been on the roller coaster ride again, regaining my weight - AGAIN!!! I am now ready to take the downward slope to a healthier weight. I have been reading the South Beach Heart Program, and refreshed on the concepts of the SB diet, and educated on the role of cholesterol in my body. I must make changes in my diet and exercise in order to see changes in the scale and in the mirror. With Jesus as my team captain, I will succeed.
After many attempts to lose weight, I am optomistic about this year and SP website. I have set some transition goals, and will be able to reach my ultimate goal of 145 lbs by Dec 2012.
Following the South Beach Diet, tracking my food intake, and drinking my water. Increase my activities gradually, and add personal goals. Plan to use the gym at work 3 times per week.

Welcome home, Jeanine! Good for you! I am proud that you are back on track! It is so easy to get lackadaisical and lose control of our good habits. Food and our minds are our greatest roadblocks! In our society we have been so conditioned by ads and tempting tastes and portions that we have to learn to eat when we are truly hungry and to stop when we are satisfied, not full or stuffed! We also have to develop our tastes and 'cravings' for foods that are good for us and the right portions!
You know, when I was a child, which was quite a while ago, we had mashed potatoes with butter, meats (some even fried) and vegetables for our meals. Our portions were not huge, but we could have seconds and our deserts were usually saved for Sundays or special occasions! Now our servings are the size of the normal plus second servings of past days! We also didn't snack between meals unless it was an apple or such!
Wow! Didn't mean to write a book! Talking to myself as much as you or anyone else! hehehe!

Jeanine, just thought I would check on you. I looked at your pictures and you have a beautiful family! I have fallen in love with Kaycee! She is an absolutely beautiful doll! How are you doing?
