Finally Fit!
After spending the majority of my first fifty years as an overweight couch potato, I decided to turn 50 at a healthy weight and get physically fit. That was three years ago and after losing 70 lbs., I am a slender, healthy, grandmother who loves to run and bike. I still struggle with food issues and wish I could say that it is easy to keep the weight off but it takes daily effort. I'm here to further that effort and gain motivation from other people who can appreciate the struggle...

My Goals:
To keep my weight off by exercising and eating healthy. To quite obsessing about food and develop some other interests :) To run a 5K just to say I did it. Improve my flexibility.
My Program:
My mantra: Low fat, High fiber, Low sugar. Stick with those basic concepts. Let Sparkpeople guide me in caloric intake and proper division of nutrients. Lastly keep exercising - cardio and strength training.
Personal Information:
I am a 53 year old ob/gyn nurse in Des Moines, IA. Married, with an adult son and daughter and 5 grandkids.
