9/11/2013 Hi! My name is Julie. I started using Sparkpeople to help me continue my weight loss journey back in 2007. It helped me greatly. I lost almost 110 lbs, went from a size 24 to a size 8. All my life I had been fat and the anxiety associated with keeping the weight off was tremendous. For three years I managed to do it then the stress hit. I got divorced, a new relationship started, major family changes happened, and for the past 3 years I seem to have put on over 10 lbs each year. I have also gone through menopause and have recently learned that I have every symptom of fibromyalgia there is. I have always had problems with overwhelming fatigue. When I was fat the docs would say I needed to lose weight and when I got down to 155 and still had the problem they said I was exercising too much!! I have an appt in October with a new doctor. Can't wait to hear what she says.... So here I am now, getting back on track, just trying to get back to 155 where I felt happy when I looked in the mirror and enjoyed the strength and energy that I had from being in such good shape. I work full time in a stressful job and have a 13 y/o son. My partner has 2 boys, 16 and 19 yrs old . He is a big support but doesn't struggle with weight issues himself.... but he tries to understand :-)

My Goals:
I just want to get back to my program at a pace I can tolerate now and get back to making what is best for my health a top priority again.

My Program:
I started out with almost daily treadmill and 3 or 4 times a week weight training/ toning. More recently I got an elliptical at home and just love it!! I was doing 30 minutes or more daily. It's a total body workout that burns 3 times the calories of my treadmill workout.
I target train different muscle groups 6 days a week so I get the rest time for each area but keep up the almost daily routine.

Personal Information:
I live in southwestern New York near Lake Erie... USA

I am an animal lover, especially cats. I have one cat now, named Bella. I also like turtles.

I love music and have a wide variety of music that I listen to.

Other Information:
I have been struggling with the recent loss of my father who died from obesity related illnesses and damage to his lungs from many years of smoking. He was an inspiration to me to get healthy because I saw the last 25+ years of his life were a constant struggle and he was a VERY strong man.
