February is another one of those months when stores create magical candy-filled displays. Inside those foil-covered heart-shaped boxes festooned with lace, ribbons and fake flowers are chocolates that have been rattling around in their cardboard container since October--and they taste like it.
Treat yourself to something sweet and delicious that tastes like real food--crisp apples, juicy grapes, fresh pineapple, or a perfectly ripened pear. Just say no to cardboard.
I truly believe cats do us humans such a good thing, keeping us up and at 'em every day. My outdoor cats sling themselves on the storm door if I am late getting out to feed them. Certain ones 'need' to be picked up and talked to, others have their little routines of greetings. I have six big boys so have to get up and tend them before much else.

I just finished week 1 on my low carb diet & some exercise. I only did planned exercise 3 times this week for 1hr, and I jumped on the scales and cringed just thinking about my fat intake & 1 cheat day this week. I was eating around 90g of fat per day when I first did low carb with improved blood test results overall so I knew it was safe. After reading some low-carb forums on why I seemed to be losing weight slowly compared to others when I first tried it, I was told that I needed to up my fat intake, stop counting calories & only count net grams of carbs. The motto was, eat fat to lose fat. So I upped my fat intake to around 140g, aiming for at least 155g. I jumped on the scales today & was surprised to find I'd lost 5kgs lol. I put on 8 kgs in the space of 2 months and have just removed 5 of the 8kgs in one week. Very pleased :D
