A New Chapter

I was always the shy, nerdy, and "fat" kid in school. I never made many friends, and was teased constantly throughout my youth. I've been called everything from hippo to fatty and was even brought to tears in junior high when a group of teenage boys thought it would be funny to shout "earthquake!!!" as I was walking through the cafeteria. Because of this I became depressed and only ate more to alleviate the pain. When I was only 13 I finally refused to leave the house and even began skipping ...
When I was only 13 I finally refused to leave the house and even began skipping school so I wouldn't have to be faced with more torment. Though luckily I had an amazing guidance counselor and even more amazing mom to help me through. Athough I switched to home school my guidance counselor continued to help me in my long road of weight loss but most importantly self confidence. I began eating a lot healthier, completely getting rid of ice cream, soda and potato chips. Through exercising and limiting what I ate I lost quite a bit of weight. Eventually though I hit a plateau and even though I pushed myself harder was not able to lose any more weight. I became depressed again and unfortunately put back on all the pounds I'd lost and then some. At my biggest I weighed 225lbs (age 17) and that's when I said enough was enough. I began studying karate, got back to eating healthier all natural foods, and smaller portions and finally got down to 170lbs. I went from a size 18-20 jean to a size 11-12 and was never more happy, confident and proud of myself in my life. However since beginning college I've found that keeping my current weight let alone continuing my weight loss is a huge struggle. My goal weight is 130-140lbs and I'm determined to reach it by spring of 2012 but by no later than my birthday. (June 11th)
