Don't Wanna Be A Turkey This Thanksgiving....

Gobbling everything around me!! I want to eat sensibly, mindfully and watch those portions!

Hi, my name is Melissa. I'm nearing 50 years old and I am totally blind. I lost my sight due to Type 1 Diabetes, but I don't let that little inconvenience get me down much! I am an adjunct professor of psychology at my local community college and a licenced profressional counselor. Since joining SP in 2008 I've lost 20 pounds. Yes, I am losing slowly, but I'm losing!

My Goals:
I just finished the Fall 5% challenge with not much success. I lost, but not my 5%. I still have a few weeks left with the BLC26 and am putting forth a real effort!

My Program:
I am a member of Weight Watchers now and it is working for me. I also plan to do every challenge within my BLC26 challenge to the best of my ability to build healthy habits that will last!

Personal Information:
I am totally blind as a result of Type 1 Diabetes and living the wild life in my younger days! I "celebrated" 45 years of being diabetic this May. I live in lovely South VA and have a wonderful husband and spoiled mutt named Sassy. She is a handful, but it is worth it!

Other Information:
I love reading and especially enjoy psychological thrillers, mysteries, stories featuring dogs and the occasional occult novel like Stephen King or Dean Koontz. I am an avid belly dancer, but have only recently started to dance again since my mother's death on 12/12/12! I still have not gotten back into belly dancing mostly due to transportation problems since my dad had a stroke in 2013 and he was my ride! I enjoy water! I love swimming, water aerobics, water jogging and more! I walk a mile with leslie Samsone everyday and sometimes more. I actually enjoy exercising! I love summer!! I also try to make it to Curves at least 3 times a week and do the Curves Smart program which pushes me to improve my workout each time! Plus I am an avid follower of Jessica Smith's video workouts!

Now that I've gone to your home page I see the answer there. What is the difference between an adjunct professor & a professor?

"Dreaming is wonderful, goal setting is crucial, but action is supreme.
To make something great happen you must get busy and make it happen.
Take that action step today that will put you on your path to achievement."
-Greg Werner

I appreciate you taking the time to comment on my blog "A Treat? Or A Threat?"
Have a healthy day!

Melissa,

Thank you for the comment on my blog. I agree with you that getting off the BP medication is a better goal to meet than my target weight goal.

Have a great weekend!

"Imagine that day, when you can finally say, 'I never gave up. I never quit.' Imagine the day when you win a gold medal or reach your goal weight. Imagine these moments of pain as mere memories. It might take a long time to reach that moment, but as soon as you get there, you'll thank yourself for the rest of your life." (Unknown)
