Personal Information:
I am Betty I., AKA Javagal (I love mocha javas unfortunately) I was born in MN. but left when I was 8 yrs old, to live in warmer CA. I married at 18, lived in North Hollywood, and then many cities in So. CA. Now in Sacramento. At 23, I contracted polio after having had two children. Came out of hospital after 7 wks. Could walk fairly well. Never used any help to walk. In the mid 70''s I was hit with post polio syndrome. Something I had no knowledge of until in the 80''s. Just knew I was doing a lot of falling and always tired. Had two more children after polio so have two boys and two girls. I spend my days in a power chair, and am thankful for it. Just not possible to do any exercise, can do some stretches, that''s all. Hard to lose this way, but I am going to try my hardest as the extra weight does not help the aches and pains. Love this site!! I joined 50+ members with 50-99 pounds to lose, and one other with great people but I couldn't keep up with the correspondence neces

Other Information:
Favorite book other than the Bible: "In the Presence of My Enemies" by Gracia Burnham. A true story of her and her husband's almost year in the captivity of the Albu Sayyaif terrorist group through the jungles of the Philippines.

"Life is like an echo, you get back what you send out."

It's so hard when everyone is helping you. I hate to ask for anything because I don't want to inconvenience anyone so I know how hard it is for you and your daughter. I lived with Daddy the last couple of years of his life. I would get up every morning and make him his favorite easy-over eggs. After a few days of him not eating I finally ask "Why aren't you eating your eggs?" He told me he just lost his taste for them. He hadn't said anything, rather go hungry than hurt my feelings. After that he got pancakes or biscuits and gravy. I told him it hurt my feelings more for him not to eat because he didn't want to hurt me.

As far as the crutches go I can stand up and pivot to get in or out of furniture or car seat. My arms are getting really strong, although I think I hurt a muscle in my chest. I can still push through the pain to get where I need (like the toilet or sofa). Thanks for checking in on me, sincerely your friend Linda.

Betty please keep on visiting my blog. I don't think you go on and on at all. I love all your comments and pearls of wisdom. I shouldn't complain about this inconvenience, I'm sure you would love to have the opportunity I have to leave the crutches and chair in a few weeks. I once had a friend that would complement my hair and I would just brush her compliments away and then she got cancer and chemo. When all her hair fell out she still would always have something sweet to say about my hair. I started to just say the same stupid thing, but I stopped and clasped her hand and said how much I appreciated her kind words. She is gone now but I will never forget the lesson she taught me about thankfulness. My foot is not 100% but I have a foot. Thank-you for reminding me to be thankful and for reminding me of my sweet friend now gone on to Heaven.

Here's to a great week!

and thanks for the goodie.

I did join the 50+ with 50 or more to loose cause I'm in quite a few already but I am 64 and have already lost 45+ on SP and have some more to go so I would be eligible.
