Keeping With it

I'm a college student who has struggled with my weight for years. I have lost weight (up to 35 pounds) in the past, but have never been able to stick with it for the long term. I used weight watchers once and the south beach diet once. I weigh the most I ever have before (259lbs) and it is time for change. I am following weight watchers again, and so far it is going great. My greatest concern is staying with my new lifestyle and not giving up.

My greatest concern is staying with my new lifestyle and not giving up.

I think the moment I decided to make this change for good was earlier this summer. I was playing with the child I babysit, and there happened to be a mirror in front of us. I remember looking up at it and thinking "I don't feel like how I look" and, "That's not who I am inside". I couldn't believe I had let my self go like this. I just recently got rid of my size 18 jeans to move up to a size 20. Time for change!

So, what do I want to gain from this journey? Well, first off, I obviously want to lose weight and gain respect for myself and body. My body deserves better then what I have been giving (and not giving) it. I also would like to be able to go on hiking trips and such with my friends not feel so self conscious of how out of shape I am. I also want to make this change so I am healthy enough to have a baby (but no babies any time soon!!) when the time comes. I would like to be able to go shopping and not be disappointed every time I look in the mirror. I want to be proud of myself!

So, I got off track and gained some pounds back but I've been doing well and at -17 pounds! Feeling great.

It's been a while since my last update! My weight loss slowed, and I moved back to college. However, I'm keeping it up and starting to workout more! I've now lost 16 pounds.

7 pounds down and feeling great! I haven't been exercising like I should be though (this is the hardest part of health and weight loss for me). I have gone on a few walks, which is something. I can't wait to get back to school to start Zumba class again!
