Round Little Gramma with Big Ideas

I'm an empty-nester with all three of my grown children 3000 miles away with their own families. No grandbabies around to cuddle and with depression, panic, shyness, and no car, it's been a lonely few years. Food and art have been my friends and now one of those I need to control.

So here I am with 90 pounds to lose, high cholesterol, and a history of 60 year olds dying from heart failure in my family. Nothing else seems to work, but I'm going to try...

My biggest goal is to get my butt up from the art table and computer and exercise, as I have no problems with the diet--but that's a tough road to hoe as I HATE EXERCISE.

Doing the Heart Healthy Diet and trying to get enough motivation to actually START the Fit Over 50 DVD I bought...

I hope you got the answer you needed to the "what to do after the buffet" question you had. When ever I have had a not so healthy meal during the day I lean towards a nice veggie salad with a low fat dressing (used sparingly) and maybe a tablespoon of nuts (for some protein). I never skip a meal, because my body is just to used to eating 3 meals/2 snacks a day.....have a great day and never linger too long on what you think was a slip up on the foods you might eat.....best to just get right back on the "horse" so to speak. emoticon

Thanks for your comments on my blog! You are right..tracking is soo important. I think the reality of seeing something in black and white is a good way to think before I eat something I'm going to regret later!!
