My healthy journey

I'm a 62 year old grandmother of 6 grandkids ranging from 18 years old to 19 months. I live in Rockport, TX; that's near Corpus Christi. It's a lovely coastal town. My weight lose journey was first started because I was pre diabetic and knew I needed to lose weight. I lost almost 30 pounds just cutting anything white and processed out of my diet and watching the glycemic index. My daughter in law came out for a familly reunion & lost 30 pounds using spark people. That got me going again. Now I ...

Now I am back again to lose 10 pounds that I re-gained and want to keep it off this time around.

My Goals:
My goals are to lose 10 pounds and build up my biking to 20 miles at least twice a week. Continue to do Pilates and walking. Do everything I can to be as healthy as I can. I have FM & OA and now that flares are a part of my life, but they will not keep me down.

My Program:
I''m staying right around the 1200-1300 calories a day, ride either my regular bike or stationary bike depending on the weather. I alternate that with walking & doing resistance band Pilates. I excerse in some manner at least 5 X a week .

Personal Information:
I live in Rockport, Texas a small seacoast town, near Corpus Christ. I love riding my bike along the beach road, it''s always inspirational. I have used the glycemic index in helping me to lose weight before and continue to watch my carbs and sugars.

Other Information:
I love to read mostly mysteries, & like true adventure novels. I like inspirational movies like Seabisket where even someone who is the underdog, can become a winner. Just like life, where we just have to keep on keeping on.

I would like to invite you to join the Spring Biggest Loser Challenge!
If you're interested, go to this page: http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/groups_

It is to the BLC All Team page. The Spring sign up thread is the second thread in the General Discussion Forum. Just add your name to the list

I'm on the Turquoise Titans Team!
If you want to be on Turquoise, you need to add that beside your names
Patty picks those who indicate a specific team to place first.

I hope to see you there!

Howdy, Stranger!

I missed seeing your smiling face!

I'd like to invite you to join me in the "Eat a Rainbow Challenge!"
We strive to eat something from EVERY COLOR of the Rainbow, each day. I also track white and brown, but avoid the WHITE foods that are "off limits", and post those that are allowed. Not that I hide the ones that are NOT allowed... {grin}

I track water and exercise, too.

I hope to see you there!
This is on the Fibro site, under mini-challenges

Welcome BACK!

Good morning Jane! My name is Pam and I am a member of the Christians with Fibromyalgia Team. I see that you have not posted in quite some time, so I wanted to come and encourage you to come and fellowship with us and let us be a part of your journey with the Lord and with healthful living. We would like to be able to give you support and encouragement and so I would like you to consider spending some time with us so we can get to know you, those of us who do not already know you. I pray the God will bless you today in a special way and meet your needs and fill you with His peace and joy today. I ask it all in the name of Jesus! Amen!
Your Sister in Christ,
Pam emoticon
