My goals to be met by the time of my annual doctor visit in July 2016:
1. Lose 20 lbs.
2. Have a fasting blood sugar below 100.

I enjoyed my 14 in 2014 so much that I've made a list of 15 for 2015. I reserve the right to change any of the 15 if I so choose -- and I still need to decide on the 15th. I have so many ideas left by the time I reach the end of the list, I can't decide which one I want on the list. No one said I had to just do 15 either.

1.Get a pedicure.
2.Try reflexology. 3/18/15
3.Visit a new Wisconsin city. I did this one last year but there are more places to go.
4.Make a wine kit. I got one for Christmas so Ive got a start on this one.
5.Grow something new in the garden. Kale, maybe. 5/25/15 and I harvested some7/2/15
6.Take a cooking class, online or in person. Started one online 6/28/15
7.Master Gardener classes.
8.Volunteer in a new way.
9.Learn enough German to read a childrens book in German.
10.Read President biographies through #30. This wont be as hard as it sounds. Several years ago I made a New Years resolution to read a biography of each President. Ive made it to #26 but have been stuck there for a while.
11. Try CC skiing.
12.Teach each dog a new trick.
13.Do a corn maze.
14.Take a Zumba class. I used to do Zumba at Curves before my ankle surgery in 2012 and loved it. Its time to go back. I dont go to Curves anymore but Zumba is available to nonmembers for a fee. Otherwise theres continuing ed. 4/6/15-6/8/15 and I loved it so much I signed up for the Summer session too.
15. Take a yoga class. 7/8/15

My Goals:
Lose 25 lbs.

My Program:
Eat a healthier diet -- with an emphasis on fruits and vegetables.

Walk/bike/Spark videos for a total of 120 fitness minutes per day.

Drink my water!!!

Learn to think before I eat.

Personal Information:
I live in Central Wisconsin. I retired from my job as a speech therapist for a local school district in June 2008. Then I worked part time until June 2012. Now I am fully retired. I have been married for 30+ years. We only have canine children.

Other Information:
I love to read, cross stitch and crochet. My favorite thing to do is to walk the dogs. My husband was diagnosed with celiac disease in January 2011 so we have had to change the way we cook and eat. For the most part, it has been a positive change. He has other health problems that limit his mobility so I care for him as needed. I also share the care for my aging father and my stepmother who has dementia.

Hey Janet! Thank you for the kinds words, but I'm struggling right now, too. I've put 12 pounds back on, and am trying to get it off again. Summer makes it tough, because that's when I do most of my traveling, and conference trips are a real battle for me. I'm leaving again in a week for another one. So, we're in this battle together, g.f.! Keep up the good fight!

I am not surprised you love Excel too! Janet, I get the sense that you and I could be peas in a pod. :)

My real Excel excellence is in budget tracking. Since 2006 I've tracked every penny! It really works great for me.

Oh, and here is an article about the difference between nutrition and exercise for weight loss: http://vitals.lifehacker.com/exercise-vs-d

I'm with you Janet, I came a long way and then since I had accomplished so much, I got into a sort of coast which isn't entirely bad in and of itself but if it continues I know I will continue to go backwards and the progress I say I want to make will not happen. So, I had to sit down and say...I'm starting as though it's totally new...forget the progress I had made, set my sights on what I need to do.
