It's long past time for an edit of my page! I first wrote at least 8 years ago and am now pushing 70, having turned 69 nearly two weeks ago. The biggest change I am dealing with is the death of my husband in November, 21015. We had been married 47 years, and it's hard to believe, sometimes, that he's really gone; he used to travel when he was working, and after he retired he often went to his parents' home to visit and do odd jobs for them. And when he WAS home, he was often is his den, woodworking shop, or working in the garden. So sometimes I find myself expecting him to come upstairs and get another cup of coffee or say "What's for supper?" I am fortunate to have one of my sons living next door with his wife and three now-teenaged children, so I am not completely alone. Now follows my original writing:
It is odd, but having turned 60 in 2007 seemed finally to have gotten me inspired to make some changes! First of all, I am trying to be more fiscally responsible, which is a good reason for coming here and saving the cost of other online programs. Next, I am trying to take better care of myself so I can be active and productive well into my eighties and nineties! My mom turned 90 last year, and she hasn't been as active as she might have been and is now rather frail. I don't want that to be me! I am also wanting to use up a lot of my fabric stash instead of accumulating more. This is part of being fiscally responsible and also fighting perfectionism!
It's now Feb.2, 2009, and I just edited the above to update it. I am making progress, but not in LOSING weight! However, the small changes I am making are improving my attitude in lots of areas, so the weight loss WILL follow! Eventually!
I want to be active and agile as I near "old age," which as defined by my eight-year-old grandson is seventy. I am now sixty, so I have plenty of time to get ready! I also want to be healthy and to feel good about the way I look.
I am starting by drinking enough water, eating more vegetables, and riding the stationary bike.
I live in southeast Michigan after having lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma for fifteen years. I have two grown sons and five grandchildren. I love to quilt and read, both of which are sedentary, so I am working on loving to exercise! Some of this can be be just taking care of my home as a FlyBaby, which would help in LOTS of areas!
Although I am of German descent, I also love England and Scotland. My favorite author is Rosamunde Pilcher for fiction and C. S. Lewis for non-fiction. I would love to spend a few weeks in England, so perhaps that will be my reward for this major lifestyle change!

I'm STILL working on my older son's quilt. sigh, started full force and then got hung up on the ribbon border. Then procrastinated. But I bought really cool backing and he saw it when he visited in August and really liked it. :) so yay. Now if I can finish it by December. LOL
How are your grandchildren? Did you know I now have two?!

Oh my goodness, well I'm rethinking the email subscription to the Flylady. There are too many promotional emails for my taste.
I need to remember to time the 15 minutes. I, one, either get distracted, or two, go over the fifteen minutes.
But I did get the foyer completed yesterday. I had planned on the dining room too, but it didn't happen. I mowed instead. lol
Yes! I like to write out my notes too. Starting on the first I started listing what I wanted accomplished daily, but I'm sometimes out of the flylady zones.
Because we just moved we are still dealing with boxes/unpacking.
I have always liked waking up to a clean kitchen. (I'm working on ds about this. My goodness but he goes through a lot of dishes during the day.)
