For the majority of my adult life I've been 20 to 40 lbs over my "ideal weight". In June 2005 I lost my husband. He was vibrant and healthy one day and gone the next. There are no words to describe the despair that I felt and to a large degree still feel. My grief would have completely over taken me if not for my Faith, my family, and my friends. I know I will miss him for the rest of my life, but I have to stop and remember it is because of my love for him and his love for me ...
I know I will miss him for the rest of my life, but I have to stop and remember it is because of my love for him and his love for me that I am grieving and that I am missing him. I am very grateful to have had and still have that love. Now I am 138 lbs over "my ideal weight" and I have to take back control of my emotions and my actions. I am hoping that this site will be helpful for that journey. If I gain 15 more pounds I'll be at 300. I just CANNOT let that happen!!!!!!!! I am starting low carb again after many years, because it really is the only thing that works for me. For the last 5 years I have adhered pretty faithfully to the diet my DR put me on. The only thing is the only exercises I can do are in a chair and aqua aerobics. which is not enough to loose weight. Actually I have gained 100 lbs in the past 7 years. I know the low carb life style works but I've let myself be persuaded to follow low fat low calorie. Which is fine if you can do the proper exercises with it. You can loose weight on low carb without hard exercise. I believe I will literally go past the point of no return if I'm not successful this time Peace to all, Jane

My Goals:
My goal is to get to my goal weight by eating low carb and exercising. The exercising is more of a challenge than eating the right foods because I suffer extreme pain from arthritis and a number of chronic back ailments But I'm doing everything that I can to get moving
My Program:
I have chosen to go back, after 7 years, to a low carb life style. This works for me. I know it works for me. I will go 30 minutes of chair exercises a day and 30 minutes of Qi gong for seniors.
Personal Information:
I was born in Arlington, VA. We moved to PA when I was 4 and I grew up in Upper Darby, PA, A South-East suburb of Philadelphia. I moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 1970. I am a widow, I have 4 grown children, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. The best part is they all live within a 50 mile radius of me.
