Hello! My name is Jamie... I'm a 32-year old mom of 2 beautiful children. My weight has always fluctuated but has never been much of an issue. Two and a half years ago I quit working to become a stay-at-home mom. That was when my weight really started to spiral out of control. Just before Christmas 2010 I hit rock bottom, realizing that I weighed more than I had ever weighed, including through my pregnancies. I knew it was time to do something. I signed up for our neighborhood's annual Biggest Loser contest and on January 7th, 2011, I started my journey to become a healthier, stronger person.

Just like many of you, I have struggled to lose weight many times in the past. Each time I've tried it has ended unsuccessfully. This time I went about losing weight a different way.

The first thing I did was accept the fact that I had to be in this body, mind, and soul. It has to be a long-term change, not just something I do for a few weeks or months. I also realized that it meant changing my lifestyle and the way I eat overall. I am not good at diets so I knew I was headed in the right direction.

I've invested in a few workout dvds over the years and added a couple more to my collection to keep things fresh. I know that exercise does not have to be a nuisance to work - you can have fun while you're doing it. I love the Zumba and Dancing with the Stars workouts. And if I need some extra motivation, I pull out one of my Biggest Losers Workouts. Bob and Jillian are great for kicking anyone's butt into shape.

(Updated 06/10/11) I am now 15 lbs from my goal weight and struggling again. I have learned that losing those last few pounds really is the toughest part. I haven't given up yet and I'm not going to. I'm having to switch my routine up a little more often as my body continues to fight me as it gets comfortable with a certain workout. I know that I can do this though and I'm not stopping now!

My Goals:
Since reaching the halfway point to my goal weight, I've come to realize that it is going to be more difficult as I get closer. As my body changes, I have had to re-evaluate my goals to determine what is realistic and not so much.

After our BL Contest is over, I hope to participate in at least 3 5Ks before the end of the year and the Disney Princess Run in February 2012.

My Program:
I've used Zumba and other random programs, but my current favorite is Turbo Jam. I'm also using C25K to train for the 5Ks and more that I want to participate in. In addition to those, I decided to take on the 30-Day Shred for the 3rd time. I am determined to finish it this time and next month plan to do a different JM Routine.
