2. I always liked to exercise while I was growing up, but was not an "real athlete".
3. I gained a little extra weight with each baby, and found myself up 20 pounds and way out of shape.

1. I have four beautiful daughters, ages 11, 13, 16, and 18.
2. I always liked to exercise while I was growing up, but was not an "real athlete".
3. I gained a little extra weight with each baby, and found myself up 20 pounds and way out of shape.
4. I lost 30 pounds nine years ago and have kept most of it off.
5. I started going to college in Spring of 06 and will graduate with a degree in exercise science in August. (Health/fitness has become my passion.)
6. I started running five years ago at 30 years old.
7. Like many others, I followed the Couch to 5k program, and it changed my life. I could not run a mile without stopping before I started the program.
8. Since then, I have run many 5Ks, 10Ks, a few half marathons, and three marathons. I plan to continue running forever.
9. I love spending time with my husband and children and it is my life's mission to maintain balance between taking care of myself and being there for them.
10. I am pretty boring--my idea of a good time is to curl up with a good book or get lost with a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle.

**Update**I completed my B.S. in exercise science and fitness management in August and became an ACSM certified Health and Fitness Specialist.

I've read that learning forward takes pressure off the lower legs resulting in less knee, shin, and calf injuries. I'd love more info, though. :)

Also, how do you feel about the Chi running? I've read a bit about it but not sure I could make it work.
