Hintzy!

Just trying to keep myself in check and get a bit healthier... last year was rough and I fell off the wagon a bit on top of damage done by taking an office job out of college. Why am I here? because my grandmother died of a massive heart attack at 52, and I aim to not follow in her foot steps. I watched my father turn his health around and I know that I can do it to, and by starting earlier than he did it will do me even more good. So, onward and upward!

My Goals:
My starting goal is to get back down to 170, which is what I weighed during a healthy period at college when I was eating well and exercising regularly. I will review what further loss might be possible/healthy once I get closer to that point. I've never been thin in my life, ever (period) so I kinda don't know what's even possible at this point.

My Program:
Intentional work outs at least 3 times per week, and as much incidental activity as I can manage (house work, lunch time walks at work, playing wii or going bowling - the stuff that is activity but not really a sweaty work out)

paired with being mindful of what I eat - balanced foods, fresh foods, and a piece of bacon every once in a while for good measure (because total deprivation makes me do scary things)

Personal Information:
I'm from Delaware and consider myself a professional fine artist with a day job. Feel free to visit my blog at theartofhintz.blogspot.com - I often forget to post to it, but I'm getting better about that as I try to market my art a bit more.

I'm also recently engaged to a most wonderful man whom I've spent the better part of a decade with. We're planning to get married in spring of 2014.

Yes, nothing wrong with a burger in and of itself! It's that fast food thing I have to be cautious with!

Mmmmmm, you talk about your lean ground beef burger with onions, mushrooms, and spinach and my mouth is watering! YUM!

emoticon Have a lovely Thursday!! emoticon

lol, frozen cake lasts longer than refrigerated cake!

I know it's true, but none of my cake's have ever had a chance of going anywhere near "stale" or "off" so this is news to me! *LMAO* emoticon

Good point!

Thanks for your comment on my fast food options blog. I never would have considered WAWA. We don't have them around here, but I do see them when traveling. I thought they were just like a Minute Mart (hot dogs and donuts). Thanks for the suggestion.

Glad you can relate. Yes, definitely keep trying with him. One thing I know from working at the Juvenile court: when troubled kids are given the opportunity for support, they often don't know what to do with it, so they reject it. They aren't used to it, and their philosophy is that they've been rejected so often themselves that they assume anyone offering to help doesn't mean it and will abandon them sooner or later. So to protect themselves, they reject the person first. If you give up, his assumption will be correct, and will confirm that he should reject any future offers of support also. So don't give up, and eventually, he should come around.
