No fear...

I have always been fit, but I have also been ridiculously tiny and embracing a few more curves--but with that, my weight has always fluctuated. I have a small frame, so even a little weight gain looks unflattering on me. Having been so active in undergrad and grad school, I need to spend a lot of time working out in order to just maintain my weight--losing is the true challenge.

Sometimes I think I need a kick in the butt to be where I want to be, but I know I can do it. It's the fear that holds me back. I can't be scared anymore. I know it is going to be hard. I know it is going to take commitment and a lot of work. I know its not going to be easy. But I owe this to myself and for once in my life, I need to be a little selfish.

So, here's to a new day, a new try, and no fear....

My Goals:
-get to my goal weight the healthy way
-work out on a consistent basis
-track my calorie intake
-quit social smoking
-quit drinking as much
-relax more and stress less

My Program:
I am tracking my food intake, watching my simple carb and candy intake (bad habits), drinking water, working out in the mornings before going to work including at least 30 minutes of cardio and 30-45 minutes of weight training.

Hi Jackie. Your blog post made me thing of the good old days growing up in northern New Mexico. I live outside of Albuquerque now and anymore we're lucky to see any snow in the urban area at all. There were flurries here this morning so I'm hopeful! The folks up north in the higher elevations have had snow for a few days though. I'll try to get up there and ski by the end of the month.
