My 1st Goal - post baby weight 216 lbs
Hi, I'm looking to heal my body, get stronger and lose weight -- in that order! Hyper-extended my right knee mid-March and have been in physical therapy since, and hurt it again last Friday night - ouch! Needless to say it put a damper on my birthday plans but I'm MORE DETERMINED THAN EVER to FIX MYSELF!!!
All this pain I've been in over the past few weeks has really CHANGED my mindset. I KNOW what I must DO NOW to HEAL MYSELF physically and KNOCK some of this weight off!!
I HAVE A PLAN.... I know I'm going to have to keep up my leg strengthening exercises from therapy and my back (because my siatiaca kicked in too - UGH) exercises EVERYDAY FOREVER!
I am joining the YMCA so I can make use of their gym and swimming pool which is easy on the joints! AND I'm working with my hypothyroid doctor on my changing the way I eat. I am going GLUTEN-FREE and DAIRY-FREE in light of my recent sensitivities to these foods in the past several years .... they're no longer working for me and I see such a difference in just cutting back on them in the past two weeks by 80%.
I NEED to be here for the two LOVES OF MY LIFE -- my precious little girl (who I prayed and prayed for after 2 previous miscarriages), she is the JOY of my LIFE and my wonderful husband, he is the LOVE of my LIFE. I LOVE THEM with all my heart and I AM LEARNING to put MYSELF first so I can take care of them!
I've learned how to NOT BE SO PERFECT and ANAL about journaling and keeping up with what I eat each day ... I've STOPPED beating myself up if I didn't write each day -- life with a 3 year old and her busy schedule is ENOUGH, and when I can write I do -- especially when I need to write about my day more so than what I've eaten or not eaten ... writing my feelings and thoughts and experiences is more important to me that what I did or didn't eat each day ....
SO THAT's WHERE I AM TODAY -- May 16, 2011
I WILL REVIEW these thoughts in 6 months time with MUCH SUCCESS I KNOW!!!
THE COST OF BEING FAT has taken it's toll on my body for THE LAST TIME!!! THIS IS IT -- THIS IS NOW -it's TIME TO MAKE A CHANGE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goal #1 - Get back to post baby weight, 216!!
Goal #2 - Make exercise a daily PRIORITY
Goal #3 - Make better food choices everyday
Start each day with warm lemon tea or apple cider vinegar tea.
Eat lots of fruits, veggies, chicken, turkey and tuna in olive oil -- basically preservative free
Try to each fresh foods, no preservatives as much as possible, dark choclate, limit junk and fast foods
No dairy and no whole wheat, just found out I have sensitivities to these products. Eat carbs (white pasta/bread) once a week. Use sprout bread only and limit daily servings to 1.

Thank you SO much for your advice about thyroid issues. I really appreciate it as this is all new and overwhelming to me!Are you happy with the meds that you take? Do you try to avoid anything that has soy in it as an ingredient as well? I won't know until Wed. what type of medicine I will be taking.

hey! How was Pollace's? Are you still there? I miss it sooooooo much. I can't wait until August. I wanna skip right there...and that's not normal since I wanna basically just skip my birthday! lol. How is everything by you? I've kinda fallen off the wagon... not good. Hope you guys had fun! Can't wait to hear about it!
