I am 32 years old and I have fought with my weight since I was 10. I was a steady 135 from junior year in hs until the end of my freshman year in college. That summer I did not have a job for quite a while and packed on the pounds. I went up to 167. It was a real battle after that to lose weight.

I tried the protein power (high protein low carbs) diet and was able to lose about 25 lbs, but then went home and gained it all back and them some. Actually I used to have nightmares ...

I tried the protein power (high protein low carbs) diet and was able to lose about 25 lbs, but then went home and gained it all back and them some. Actually I used to have nightmares that I was stuffing my face with desserts. Think my body was trying to tell me I need carbs?

Anywho, in December '01 I accepted Christ as my savior and in April '02 I took on the challenge of losing weight once and for all. It as been quite a ride over the last five years.

I found my most powerful tool in this battle, and it is definitely a battle, is prayer. Whenever an issue came up that I was really struggling with, like eating at night or wanting to stuff my face with junk food, I would turn to God for help. Five years later I am still in this battle and I fight with this last 10 lbs I am only 5 lbs above my lowest weight. God is good!!

To anyone who has just started SP is a great tool. It has helped me tremedously. Leave a comment or sparkmail me if you wanna chat. I can be a wealth of information and would love to help you on your jouney to a new healthy you.

My Goals:
To eat healthy.
To firm up
To spend more time with God, family, and friends.
To love deeply and live life everyday despite any fear that might creep in.

My Program:
~I eat at timed intervals that are not too long for my body.
~Eat at the high end of my fat range so my body doesn't rebel, but still stay within my calorie range (this is possible. check out my food tracker)
~get in more protein (I need it)
~exercise 5 to 6 days a week alternating between cardio and muscles

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in Philly, but at heart wish I was in Wyoming. I spent some time out there and just love it. It is so beautiful.

I am a child of God and try to live every day reflecting His love to this world. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I am only human afterall.

I love to read, watch movies, hang out with friends, and talk about God. He is just so awesome. I don't know what I would do without Him.

Weight loss has been a long journey and has caused me to discover much about myself. It has been and continues to be amazing.

Other Information:
I would love to hear from you. April was 5 years since I started my healthier life style and they say when you reach 5 years it stays off. I am clinging to that one. I would love to listen, chat or help in any way I can.

Dear Cori,
Thanks so much for your lovely message! Phew... it's a tough week. I've never lasted past the first week of a diet so this is kinda a deciding week for me. Hope you're well and you're right about the comfort eating!
Keep healthy and happy!
