Road to Spartan: a CrossFit Journey!

After losing 115lbs and sucessfully completing my 1st Avon Walk, I searched for another fitness challenge to motivate me to continue to reach my daily fitness goals. Family members and friends suggested that I take a look at obstacle racing. In my research, I came across the Spartan mud races...and I found my next challenge!

Hope 13.4 went well for you! I did the 3 C&J, but not yet Toe to Bar.That's okay - I was toast anyway since I was sick and having asthma issues last week anyway so I couldn't even do 13.3
But, since we had the time, the judge and I spent the rest of the 7 minutes working on skills for T2B. It actually helped. I came closer than I ever have, so maybe time and practice might be the key.

No, not doing the open. I am not sure I understand the whole deal. There are so many skills I can’t do like unassisted pull-ups and muscle ups and double unders and handstand pushups, etc… I understand you have to do everything prescribed? And I am still pretty weak in my upper body. There is no way I could do a 100 lb snatch. I did the workout on Friday with 43 lbs the whole time and I about died. How did you do on your first workout?

I'm really nervous about 13.1. I have my first attempt tonight. This my first open and I just want to do as best I can. Not that I'm even strong enough to make it to regionals, but I know it will be challenge. My goal is 100, with hopefully some attempts at 75 (old PR is 73)

I'm in the Central East division, which has Julie Foucher (finished 5th at the games 2010 and 2011 and finished 2n last year). and Rich Froning (and Panichik who finished 4th) for the men. So I'm excited to go to regionals just to see the awesome competitors.

How are you feeling about the workout?

Thanks for the goodie!
Good luck on the first workout - you might figure they would pick burpees!
