Healthy Fit Low Glycemic Living
I am looking to change the way I eat for life, coupled with daily exercise that will become a habit. I lead a very busy lifestyle running a country inn with my husband, taking care of our two dogs, 6 cats and two ponies. I refinish antique furniture and create works of art out of old restored windows. Sometimes I get lost in all the tasks and forget to eat properly and exercise. I need to learn to take the time for me...to take care of myself physically, emotionally and mentally.

My Goals:
I'm looking to make healthy living a habit. I want to make exercise and sensible eating a no brainer. I tend to lose focus and the pounds slowing pile on and once again I am back where I started.
My Program:
I will exercise 6 days a week with intermittant cardio using a walk/jog program. I will keep a journal on my ITouch which will calculate my daily calories less my exercise calories.
Personal Information:
My husband and I live in Vermont and own The Inn at Buck Hollow Farm, a small country inn. I enjoy refinishing country antiques and am part of an antique group shop. I am also an artist. My median are old windows which I clean, restore and then paint country folk art scenes on the glass.
Other Information:
I am fortunate to live on 400 acres in rural Vermont. I have a wonderful pet family of 6 cats, two dogs and two ponies. I hate being away from them for more than a day or two which happens a couple of times a month. Most days I am up early ( 5 a.m.)and exercise with the portable DVD player for 30 to 40 minutes. During our busy season when the inn is full it becomes easier to make excuses for not exercising. I can easily get distracted with that first cup of coffee in the morning along with checking email. One thing can lead to another then time has run out. If the weather cooperates it's great to take a walk on our road which is 2 miles from beginning to end. What's good about taking that walk is once you start you can't quit like when you walk on a treadmill. You need to keep walking in order to get back home. I find what has worked for me is keeping myself busy and I always keep my knitting near by which keeps my hands busy and I don't think about eating when I am stationary.
