Over 40 and lovin' it

HI, I'm Lynn and I'm new here at sparkpeople. I am a 42 year old mother of 4. I am a full time caregiver for my 18 year old son who has a few medical conditions that effects him physically as well as emotionally. HI, I'm Lynn and I'm new here at sparkpeople. I am a 42 year old mother of 4. I am a full time caregiver for my 18 year old son who has a few medical conditions that effects him physically as well as emotionally. So in order for me to take care of my , 5ft 10in,son who weighed over 250 lbs, because of meds, I had to get my body stronger. so I begin working out a little over a year ago. Not only did I get stronger physically but mentally as well. I was depressed and and in order for me to take care of my son and get him back healthy I had to get out of my depression. Working out and staying healthy has become a very important part of my life. My goal now is to tone up more and start running. Im hoping to find a running buddy to help me get started. Maybe I'll run a marathon oneday.

My Goals:
.I'm challeging myself this month. I've already doubled my calorie burn this week. My goal is to workout every day for a max of 90 minutes a day. Some days will be more because of my walkouts. I want to take it to 4 miles a walk. So lets see what my body can do.

My Program:
Am yogo 20 min/7 days.
Walk 2-4 miles/5days.
Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. 30 days strait thru.
(these are 30 minute workouts.)
Ab jam 20 min/ 5 days.

emoticon again to the Detroit Area Diva team! The team has not had an active leader for a while. Although I am new as well (I joined in January), I know that we can all use help on our weight loss journey. The Detroit Diva team can help if we help each other. Please become an active part by visiting the team board often and posting your successes as well as your difficulties (we all have them). We can make this a strong team if we all participate. I stopped by to say thank you for the warm greeting. You made me feel special. I hope all is going well with you and your son! Have you been able to get any of your toning goals accomplished. I'm currently at 144 pounds but it does not look as good on me as 145 looks on you.
I love your background picture, where is that and where are you? As you can see I love to "tap". I currenly only work part-time so I am here several times throughout the day. If you ever find yourself in need of someone to "tap" to try me.
I'm not a runner but my husband is a distance runner. Currently he's in training for a 10k in April. I'm working myself up to running around the community which is 1.2 miles and no I'm not halfway their yet. As the weather gets warmer I will venture out more. Now I'm good for exercising in doors. I've got boo-ku (I know I'm dating myself now) DVD's that I work from. So if you ever want to set a time to workout together I'm probably good for that!
