Making it Permanent

I have always been a yoyo when it comes to weight control. About 12 years ago I lost almost 40 pounds. I kept it off for a year or two but gradually gained it all back plus another 20 pounds to top it off! I have been a member of SparkPeople for about 3 months now and have lost 13 pounds. My progress has been slow but steady. More importantly I have developed healthy eating and exercise habits. The most surprising thing of all is that I, who have always religiously avoided exercise, ...

My progress has been slow but steady. More importantly I have developed healthy eating and exercise habits. The most surprising thing of all is that I, who have always religiously avoided exercise, have come to enjoy it! I have SparkPeople and all my SparkFriends to thank for all of this, oh and yeah - I'll take a little credit too.
My journey is not over. Not by a long shot. But I know I can do it. I'm not on a diet. If I want something I eat it - just not too much of it! But I find that more and more, I WANT healthy food, not the junk.

Personal Information:
I am an RN who works for hospice one day a week. My husband and I live in a log house in West Virginia, close to the Ohio River. We have no children - just two labs and a cat who thinks he's a dog. The cat rules the roost and the rest of us just live to serve - even the dogs!

Other Information:
I love reading, traveling and walking along the beautiful Ohio river which flows through the hills and the small town in which I live.

Hi! How are you doing? Ben & Arlie are adorable! We just adopted a black lab mix. They are beautiful aren't they? Your cat looks like my Bosco too. So cute! My cat rules the roost too!
That is so funny how we are from the same area. It is beautiful! I love to come back to the Ohio Valley to visit! I miss it at times. Do not be embarrassed about gaining some weight back. BEEN THERE DONE THAT! You'll do it!
Glad you are back!
Terri

Great to see you back on line, but then I have had a bit of a lax time. emoticon

I agree. They have to keep the other teams guessing too. It'd be great to be excellent in both the running and passing game. I hope Redman keeps going good. He reminds me of Bettis. I have liked him from the beginning.
I just hope we are done with the dang injuries. Not telling what would have happened without the injuries. If Woodley would have played against Tavens (2nd time) it would have been a different game.

Thanks for the goodie, Jackie. It's been a mixed emotion week but I think I'm through the worst of it. This week was the anniversary of my son's death.

How are the boys! I hope they're both doing ok. I took Cocoa to the "Drool in the Pool" tonight at the city pool, and she had a great time. She wore herself out diving and swimming for tennis balls. Nash and Sophie are fighting allergies again, and on benadryl. It's been very dry, hot, and humid, and we need a big rain.

Hugs,
Sherry
