It's been a long, challenging road from 10 years ago and three brain surgeries. I am finally at a point in my life where I feel confident enough that I will follow through on my health goals. It's been a long, challenging road from 10 years ago and three brain surgeries. I am finally at a point in my life where I feel confident enough that I will follow through on my health goals. I have a considerable amount of weight to get rid of, and I need to re-learn and discover who I am as this new person emerging from the depths of disability.
Everything about me is so different than 10 years ago, I have to discover new ways to see things, new ways to interact in my daily life. I never expected that it would be this dramatically different, but it is.
And how I discovered this is each time I attempted to "step out" and begin living again, I was doing things the way I used to before I became so "disabled," and every time I would meet with failure. Everything I did : cleaning house, attempting to be social, etc., I did in the same way as my "old self," and nothing was working. My home has yet to get cleaned, I still have no social life, I am not able to work at a job as I did before, etc.
I am so different now.
Everything is foreign to me. And now I see it as an exciting new world. It's like being reborn ... and at the age of 53! How lucky am I ?! I get to re-create my Life and my Self.
So here I am with my physical body, ready to be re-sculpted. What fun this will be, and what fun it will be to see what I look like when I reach my goal !! :o)
