I am 76 and finally retired last yiear. Last July I had a checkup with my Cardiolotgist. My blood work numbers were not good and I weighed 203 pounds, way too much for my 5'7" frame. The Doc was honest with me. telling me that if I didn't make some lifestye changes I was a good candidate for pre-diabetis and eventually type 2 diabetis. I had prettyi much made up my mind before I left his office that I would make those changes. I DID. About a week later, I stumbled on a magzine article ...

Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog "A week. . .", JACKH35. I hear ya re: plateau-ing. It sucks : ) For me sometimes drinking extra water, especially when I think I might want a snack, seems to help.

You are absolutely correct. I have not weighed 165 since probably the ninth grade. Went to Kohls to buy a pair of pants for our trip to Seattle next week and I FIT INTO A 36 INCH WAIST. Unbelievable and it feels great. I have lowered my goal to 160 but not sure I can make it but it will be fun trying (did I really say "fun"?)
