I have been a member of SparkPeople for several years...different times trying to get the spark started, but not really putting my whole self into the idea. Because of several health issues and just not liking to buy clothes that keep getting bigger I decided to make some changes. I had originally thought of doing the lapband surgery, but due to insurance issues decided against it. So with the support of my dear hubby, I decided to try the medical diet offered at my doctor's hospital, which is the HMR diet. I am doing the Decision Free for the first 13 weeks and then I will continue, but start adding "REAL" food along with it. So since I'm on my 9th week I decided to check sparkpeople out again, looking for ideas on keeping track of calories for later. I was surprised to find a HMR Diet team...so I've joined it. Today I've tried to update some of the tracking...gearing it toward the HMR diet. Hoping the combination of the two will help to meet my goal, and make some new friends along the way too.

My Goals:
I've first set a few smaller goals on my weight loss...the first being to get to 200 lbs.

My Program:
I have started with the HMR Decision Free diet at the hospital. With medical supervision & their food for the first 13 weeks. Also they want us to get our physical activity to at least 2000 calories a week.

Personal Information:
I'm from Missouri & live on a farm. I love to do many different crafts including loom knitting, crocheting, and scrapbooking. I also love music, I play the piano, clarinet & organ and also sing.

Other Information:
I love books, in fact I could probably open my own personal library. I also have a Kindle...so more books, they just travel better!!

Good luck with your fresh start. It's been going ok for me, my biggest struggle has been traveling. So dh & I haven't really went away during the 13 weeks, although I have found a few restaurants that would warm up my entree without making a big deal about it. But I will say I'm really looking forward to moving on past the 13 weeks. I think with the support here at Sparkpeople & HMR that will go well too. Have a good week...
