My wellness journey

I started this journey in August of 2007 (before joining SP in October). Since then I have lost about 55 lbs total and feel much better! Wearing a size 12-14 and a medium, which is the first time in a long time! Doing this to get healthy and avoid diabetes.

My Goals:
Fitness goal: Walk for 3 hours at least 2 Saturdays/month. Most walked so far is 14 miles during a 5 hr. walk. Walk at least 45 min/day 6 days/wk.

My Program:
Doing videos when the weather is bad, otherwise walking outside almost every day. Doing some running (short distances) alternated with walking.

Personal Information:
Married, 3 children - oldest 33, youngest 15. Work in a hospital and love my job.

Other Information:
Fell "off the wagon" after losing 50 lbs. but on track to get back there again.

Hi. I am in Texas, not Lancaster but I know there is a walking club in your area if you are interested in participating in local events on a regular basis. I do similar walks every weekend. We are not "fund raising" clubs, we are for fun, fitness and fellowship. Our clubs are family oriented and most events are baby stroller, and pet friendly. Our object is to keep a record book and collect a stamp for each event that we do. I've done over a 1000 of the 10K events in Texas and in 46 other states. What are your goals now for your third year? emoticon Do you realize that most people who joined when you did have long since quit and resolved to stay fat? Do read "Shrink Yourself" by Roger Gould, M.D. on dealing with stress and how not to regain the pounds. Also, read "The South Beach Diet" by Arthur Agatston, M.D. on Metabolic Syndrome/Insulin Resistance as he explains why belly fat is so awful for us and how to change our metabolism.
