The Vanquishor!

I want to be the best version I can be. I deserve that. My loved ones deserve the best me. Time to start acting like the person I want to be! The pictures up here are from when I conquered my weight loss goals a few years ago...if I can quit smoking (successfully quit since 09/2009), I can do anything!

After many years of personal examination, I AM making progress. I quit my corporate job to go back to school for nursing. I enrolled in a yoga teacher training program. I got married. But the weight just won't go away, even when I manage to lost 10 or 15 pounds. I'm tired of this cycle -- I want to live the version of me that I picture. This person eats well, including fresh, local, whole foods, and enjoys daily exercise. This person has energy, feels excited about running around, feels calm and peaceful, and can keep up with the unexpected.

Beautiful Woman Award! Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the wall of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out"

Hi IZ/Girl,
I sure understand what you mean about the stress of writing a thesis and grad school and how it influences your diet, exercise and consequently, overall weight. I have been fit most of my life, but with the combination of moving to Puerto Rico, adapting the children to a new life, and studying for my PhD, I've gotten entirely off track. Now I'm doing much better, I'm far more self-aware and active. Spark People has made me wake up from the dulling dread-drill (not tread mill!) I would love to see how you are doing now. Visit the ExPat page if you would like to share your story or the challenges you face (or faced) as an ExPat. emoticon emoticon
