I'm 44, married in 2007 to the love of my life. I've been working on eating healthier, organic foods for a few years and was happy myself and my body.

Then I got married and everything changed because my husband, although he tried, didn't want to eat as healthy as I ..... so I compromised and gained 10lbs. I recently started working out again to tone up that inevitable aging flab and gravity. I also quit smoking January 28, 2009 which was really difficult. As a reward I gained another 20 lbs. on top of the other weight I gained from getting married. lol

So I'm battling age weight, marriage weight, quitting smoking weight and enjoy eating out and time-saving foods. That's my challenge...eat healthy, loose weight and tone up whilst living in a convenience-minded society. I do cook dinner during the week but most of what I eat is packaged unless it's fresh fruit or salad.... even that is from a store pre-made. lol

I believe our bodies are God's temple so taking care of them is a form of prayer and praise to God.

"...know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).


Eat Mini-Meals throughout the Day:

A lot of times, the main reason for a persistent appetite has to do with food quality rather than food quantity. Some examples of food choices that will leave you hungry:
-Eating junky carbs
-Not eating protein or enough protein
-Not eating complex carbs with a good dose of fiber
-Not eating enough fat

Concentrate on food quality and calorie distribution throughout the day. Try things like:
-Eat more calories during breakfast and lunch
-Have a good dose of protein with each meal
-Never eat carbs without protein
-Have some good fat at every meal
-Eat plenty of fiber
-Get some of that fiber from raw veggies (lots of chewing!)
-Drink plenty of water
-Have some protein and healthy fat, plus fiber with every meal, to provide satiety as well as slow the emptying time of the stomach.
-Try an apple and some nuts, or cheese and whole grain crackers.
-Start keeping a food diary of what you are eating. Note how much you eat and how you are feeling when you eat, is it true hunger, or is it related to boredom, depression, stress, anxiety, excitement, or fun? It may bring awareness to your eating habits.

THE LEMONADE CLEANSE

Pilates, yoga, hiking, biking, canoeing, biggest looser workout videos and fast walking! Dancing when I am alone. lol
