Italynette's Journey

Here's me in a nutshell:
My name is CAROLYN.
The screen name is ITALYN-ETTE. Like a dude and dudette, an Italian/Italianette... but spelled different.. anyhoo..
I was healthy in college, worked out 6 days a week with weights like a fiend.
I had my first (and only) child at 25 and gained 60 lbs. Never regained the will power and desire to hit the gym again after becoming a mom (got lazy).
I went on numerous yo yo fad diets but never kept the weight off, I ended ...
Here's me in a nutshell:

I was healthy in college, worked out 6 days a week with weights like a fiend.
I had my first (and only) child at 25 and gained 60 lbs. Never regained the will power and desire to hit the gym again after becoming a mom (got lazy).
I went on numerous yo yo fad diets but never kept the weight off, I ended up becoming heavier than my pregnancy weight in the end.
Frustrated, divorced, 39, 5'8" and 239 pounds, a friend talked me into joining a fitness boot camp at the office. I was reluctant but knew I needed to try it.
It was a turning point for me. My boot camp instructor always pushed the fact that success is 85% what we eat and 15% exercise. I realized this after being in boot camp for MONTHS and not losing any weight. We had a competition over the holidays which forced us to get on the scales.
I was DISGUSTED with the reality of my weight.
She talked to me about CLEAN EATING and proper nutrition in addition to exercise. And at that point, I decided to change my eating habits.
I have been eating clean since the first week of December 2009. I started with the Advocare 24 Day Challenge and logging ALL my food into SparkPeople.
I am more stable in every area of my health now. I ran my first 5k in January 2010 and have taken jogging up as a hobby. I have since run two additional 5K's beating my time each go round. 10K is next!
I have stopped taking my acid reflux medication and have gone from a size 18 to a size 10.

I credit a huge portion of my success in my weight loss to Advocare, Clean Eating and logging my food right here on SparkPeople!

My Goals:
Goals for 2011:
1) Run a 10K (never got there in 2010)
2) Hit my goal weight of 150 by mid year (didn't do it last year like I wanted)

My Program:
I started it all off with a gentle Herbal Cleanse by AdvoCare. Since then I have been Eating Clean 6 days a week. My cheat day is on Friday. I don't consume any dairy products (except my cheat day) and I don't eat red meat or pork..just a personal preference, nothing religious.. again, Fridays are exempt from that.
I drink at LEAST 100oz of water a day. No caffeine EVER. I ONLY drink water and AdvoCare products (Spark, Slam, etc).
I take Advocare supplements daily. Currently taking Meal Replacement Shake for breakfast 7 days a week, Thermoplus (1x a day), Catalyst (3 capsules 2x a day) Pro Biotic Ultra (1 capsule, 2x a day) and MNS MAX E. Personal Information:
I'm originally from Kansas City. Now a North Texan and love it here.

I'm a single mom of a teenager and he's a great supporter of my goals. He's my biggest cheerleader (and accountability partner!).

I thank the LORD for my successes blessings and pray for strength every day to keep going. NEVER GIVE UP.. NEVER GIVE UP...

Other Information:
I joined SparkPeople in 08 but didn't start really doing anything on here until December of 09. My first weigh in Date was December of 09.
