I have always been active, but once I hit the "40s" the weight started creeping on. 2012 was a turning point for me--reaching my highest weight ever!! Previously, I could control my weight by making "temporary" adjustments, but I never really learned how to properly analyze my eating, change bad habits, and make sustainable long-term changes that would contribute to an overall healthy lifestyle. With Sparkpeople, I now realize that this is a lifelong journey...and I truly believe that I've made changes that will remain with me for the rest of my life. Of course, every day is a new learning experience--and that is exciting!!

Current Status:
ISLAMOM so I didn't make it to the DC monument area (mall) since I was preparing for my presentation, but am gonna try really hard to get my walk in down there! Good news is I did make it past 9,000 steps!
