Be Strong

I deserve to be healthy and fit. Somebody asked me the other day why I run. The simple answer is because I can. Why not run? I've watched too many friends lose their youth and regret it later. I want to stay young for as long as I can.

I've learned a lot on this journey so far. I can run for two hours without stopping. Strength training gives me tons of confidence. Getting up and moving more makes me want to keep moving so I spend less time on the couch and more time ...

I don't miss all the TV I used to watch and I feel so much better about myself.

My kids love their new, more active mommy. My husband is proud of me and says so every day. He has changed the way he cooks and we are all better off for it. Improving my health isn't something I feel like I'm being selfish about taking for myself, although it started out that way. It turns out that it's a gift that I get to share with others.

My Goals:
Lose weight, become more healthy. I'd like to be able to run 5K in under 30 minutes and to get back into a size 6. Would like to get to a body fat % of 24.

My Program:
Right now I'm just trying to keep my calories below 1500. I 'm focusing on circuit training and lifting weights and improving my fencing.

We have been doing the Supreme 90 Day workout. Its a pretty much exact copy of P90X but not in the same ballpark pricewise. Its 10 DVDs, you do a different one every day based on their schedule. Today is day 31!

Thanks for checking out my blog and the sound advice. I'm not gonna let a day off track derail me...yesterday I stayed around 1400 calories and got in some good cardio. Back on track:)
