The time is now...
So many best intentions and yet I am currently struggling with motivation. I contribute that to a bit more stress than usual and an inbalanced sleeping cycle. Need to re-energize! Currently training with a women's walking to running group for a 5K race in October. I am thankful for the opportunity because it is a fitness goal that I am committed to. My Goals:
My ultimate goal is wellness (mind, body, spirit) and this is a journey I wish to begin. I am a 31 year old woman and would like to lose 89 lbs by December 2011. I feel this will increase my energy level and allow me to participate fully in the activities I love to do such as hiking, tennis, dancing etc. I am also on my journey to becoming a runner! I participated in my first 5K in June 2010 and my pace was14:41 mi/min. I am entering another 5K race in October and would like to improve my pace.
My Program:
Currently participating in a women's walking to running program that meets twice a week for the next 3 months. This program is helping me to train for my upcoming 5K in October 2010. Also, focusing on walking/running 3-4 times a week for at least 30 minutes (8-10 miles per week). In a couple of weeks, I will begin to journal my nutritional intake. One day at a time.
Personal Information:
I am a PhD student and consultant in the field of leadership studies...and I love it! Energized by life, positivity, spirituality, music, learning, running and the healing arts.
