My husband and I have swashed our buckles a few times at the Portland Pirate Festival, and my pirate name is Iron Bess.
A few years ago on the day before my birthday, I received a scary medical diagnosis. I didn't feel like an Iron Bess then. I've realized with time, however, that I'm not defined by a medical condition, that I'm still a person with hopes, joys, dreams, abilities, good friends and family.
Mini weight loss goals:
4/20/2016: First 10 lbs gone!
7/7/2016 Second 10 lbs gone!
11/20/2016 Third 10 lbs gone!
To weigh less each month until I reach my goal.
May 2015: I've divided the total desired weight loss into 10-lb. mini-goals. Seems less daunting and more achievable that way.
*Exercise bike or real bike 1 mile or more 2-3 days a week plus occasional other exercise such as Wii, yoga, walk, dance for variety.
*Core strength exercises 2-3 times a week
*Eat nourishing whole food, low fat, limited refined carbs.
We live in a magical Mountain West location of the US.
I enjoy skywatching, bicycling, lake kayaking, organic gardening, travel, crochet, archaeology, nature, movies (esp. foreign), music (esp. world music, jazz). I'm a beginner at playing Native American flute.
