GAME ON!!!!!

Well let's see. I'm a 37 year old mother of one. My daughter is a teenager and means more to me than anything on Earth. I struggle with emotional issues attached to my unhealthy relationship to food. I've always hated food. Not the taste or anything like that, matter of fact I LOVE to cook for others. But I don't like the actual action of eating. I think this is because it has some not so happy memories attached to it. So I speed eat. I can finish an entire steak, salad, veggies and ...
Well let's see. I'm a 37 year old mother of one. My daughter is a teenager and means more to me than anything on Earth. I struggle with emotional issues attached to my unhealthy relationship to food. I've always hated food. Not the taste or anything like that, matter of fact I LOVE to cook for others. But I don't like the actual action of eating. I think this is because it has some not so happy memories attached to it. So I speed eat. I can finish an entire steak, salad, veggies and potato in about 15 to 25 minutes. A burger? 10 minutes or less! And that's not an exaggeration unfortunately. Which leads to over-eating. When I cook I like to cook healthy foods. No canned or frozed or boxed stuff. I admit I don't eat healthy all the time though. I wish I did and I'm working on that but in my current situation it's very difficult. I view food almost as a punishing thing. If I can change that and increase my exercise then I think I'll make it!

My Goals:

My Program:
I'm working on myself. I'm retraining myself to slow down when I eat. I'm amazed at how full I get when I do this and on such a small amount of food! I'm increasing my exercise. I love to walk on the treadmill. I also enjoy lifting weights.

Personal Information:
I live in Austin Texas with my wife and daughter. I'm originally from a podunk town called Perryton Texas.

What I do: I'm a Therapist on hiatus. I'm hoping to go back to school so that I can teach abnormal psychology classes at a local community college someday.

I'm a nerd and book geek! I'm into writing and photography. I'm a water spirit so anything that's by/on the water and I'm there! I love to play cards and board games.

My favorite thing to do is spend time with my daughter. She's 16. She plays the cello like an angel, plays guitar, and sings (takes after her mom!). She's artistic, intelligent and just wonderful. Not that I'm proud or anything...

I have this pain in my foot after I exercise or it's from my sandals. Unfortunately, I exercised and afterwards wore my sandals on Sunday so I don't know if it is from the sandals or exercise. Anyway, I didn't exercise yesterday but I did a bunch of other stuff around the house. Cleaning. I think the foot pain is feeling better so hopefully I'll do some type of exercise today. I miss it when I can't do it!!!

Thanks for the info about tomatoes. I love tomatoes. I eat them raw and cooked. It's good to know that they give us lycopene.
I ate curly fries this weekend at our Fall Festival. I should not have done that. I exercised extra but still.... I had to work in the booth with the curly fries and I usually don't even eat at the Fall Festival. See, that's why I like working in the pop booth. I have no desire to drink pop.

See, I didn't know that about onions. I know cranberries are nature's antibiotics. That's good to know about onions because I like them cooked. Not so much raw. They are probably healthier raw but I did read on SP that cooked celery has more nutrition than raw celery.

Oh, by the way I still crave and fall for my cravings! When I wrote the message below to you it was like a pep talk to myself as well!

At least liver has iron and onions are good for us although I have no idea why. I use them in almost all of my cooking.

Do Not go to Luby's. Your brain chemistry has been changed by the fat, sugar, and sodium in restaurant foods. You have to try to get the cravings for those foods out of your system. Exercise or eat almonds. Raw almonds with no sodium added. If you eat 23 that is about an ounce. They will fill you up and you won't be feeling hungry unless it's emotional hunger. If you have emotional hunger do some type of exercise.

You can get rid of the extra weight!!! Believe you can!!!!
