Hi I'm IrisBlooms.

I'm currently a full time student in the DFW metroplex, and I'm hoping to lose about 100 lbs by this time next year. I'll be graduating next year in the fall, and I'd like to be healthier by the time I have to go job hunting.

6-11-10: I joined SP in July 2009. I dropped over 20lbs, was healthier, happier, and more content. Then fall term of school started. I took difficult classes, stopped working out, etc. I still ate okay, but I probably gained about ten pounds back.

In January 2010, my grandfather was diagnosed stage 4 esophageal cancer. I spent at least two days a week driving from Dallas to Houston, still working 20-30 hours a week and trying to be a full time student. I took on way too much. I gained 30 lbs from January to now. All I did was eat fast food, frozen pizza, etc.

My scale hadn't seen the light of day in months until I drug it out and discovered that I weighed 261lbs. Higher than my "highest" weight of 246. So, here I am. Recommitted.

Summer is easy, but I need help when it comes to traditional semesters and school. Summermesters are easy. Fall... ugh. Not so much!

Week 1: 261lbs 5-27-10
Week 2: 255.2 lbs 6-4-10
Week 3: 253.8 6-11-10

(Joined the Done Girls FITS challenge)

Week 4: 251.6 6-18-10
Week5: 249.8 6-26-10
Week 6: skipped
Week 7: 245.6 7-10-10
Week 8: skipped
Week 9: skipped (but there was most def a gain with all the bad food/drinking/not working out. Meh, it's summer! I wanted to party and I'm unapologetic about it!)

UPDATE 11-7-10

School started up with a vengeance this august. This has easily been my hardest term of school ever. And let's face it, it will never get easier. And I am not the per son who can just work out over studying. Procrastinate on the internet, sue. But not actually get up from the computer and go do something active. Because at least sitting here and THINKING about homework is more productive that running, right???

I've been doing some self evaluation in the last few days. My weight is up to 262. This is easily explained wtih all the fast food/junk food/pizza I've been eating. A lot of it is that I'm so busy all the time. And I know that everyone says they're busy, but I legitimately have numerous more than 12 hours a week. But I am fully capable of controlling what I put into my body.

The whole "lose 100 lbs as soon as possible" thing isn't going to work for me. I dont have the time and when I don't see results fast enough i get discouraged. So my new thing is that I'm going to lose 63 lbs by Halloween of 2011. That will put me at under 200lbs. Once I get there, then I can focus on the rest. But I think having a more manageable "me" goal might make me stick with this better.

Here's to hoping.

So... to starting over.

My Goals:
GOALS: My first goal is to be under 200lbs for my 23rd birthday in November. By then I also want to be able to run a 5K.

Weight Goals:
Under 250lbs- 3 nail polishes( ACHIEVED 6-26-10)
Under 240 lbs- new scarf
Under 230- MAC product of choice
Under 220- new bag
Under 210- Shoes!
Under 200- Party!

Fitness Goals:
Run 1 mile withoust stopping- mani/pedi
Run 2 miles without stopping- new workout clothes
Run 5k-massage!

I'm sure I'll be adding to these...

My Program:
Eat better food, and excercise.

I'm keeping it simple. I'm not rushing, I'm not on a diet. I'm just getting healthier for me. One step at a time.

Last summer I did the tracking everything method, and I found that doing so made me LESS active. All that time logging things on SP was time I usually needed to be exercising. So this summer, I'm just watching what I eat and I'm moving my body more

Personal Information:
I'm 22, in college full time, and work part time. My work schedule changes every week, so trying to have a strict plan is never going to work for me. I just don't have enough consistency in my life for that, unfortunately.

I love to dance, and before I graduated highschool, I was in dance for 13 years. I danced my first year of college, but then I pretty much didn't do anything after that.

I want to be a runner. Last summer I kind of took up running and I loved it. I just want to be one of those people who just likes to run for the heck of it!

I live in the DFW metroplex. If anyone is looking for a biking/walking/running buddy feel free to SPmail me!

There is no such thing as a quick fix in the weight loss battle. In order to truly win, battles must be fought and lessons must be learned.

Keep it up for the last few days of this battle,
