Thanks for stopping by my blog :) I see that you said you were going the other way. Are you still feeling the negative symptoms of hypothyroidism? If you are you might want to look into adrenal fatigue.
To answer your questions - I follow the STTM protocols for my hypo treatments. It is fairly detailed but there is a ton of info here (http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/) if you haven't heard of it before. They have a FB group where you can post your lab results and they will help you figure things out. It has been huge help for me as I am still struggling to find a good doctor for this.
I have Hashi's (autoimmune version of Hypo) as well as another autoimmune disorder (RA) so I am taking supplements to help out my immune system as well. Currently I am on dessicated thyroid (not synthroid), multivitamin, selenium, iron, vitamin C, biotin and evening primrose oil (hair loss), and magnesium.
For my diet I am trying to eat lower carb (around 100g/day) and high protein. I generally eat around 1200-1300 cals a day with the occasional off day of around 1600. I use a bodymedia fit to keep me honest with my exercise. On average I create a 800-1000 cal deficit. Before my treatment I was *lucky* to lose 1lb/week despite creating a deficit for 2lbs/week.
I hope you get things figured out and feel better! 1280 days ago
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting on my recent blog. Maintenance is tough but it can be done even if we've failed at it in the past. Good luck reaching your goals and have a great weekend! 1559 days ago
Hi! I saw your comment on a page about making a healthy bucket list. I've struggled with doing what I know to do, but I just recently decided that I really want to get smaller and healthier.
