Attitude is Everything!

I struggled with losing weight for most of my life. I was only 10-20 pounds overweight until I had my 3rd child. I had a difficult pregnancy and was 60 lbs. above my ideal weight at 9 months. After she was born, I just couldn't seem to lose any pounds, even though I was still in my 20's. Five years later, my mother died, and in grieving, I gained even more weight. I had some successes and haven't reached my highest weight again, but by 2010, I was unable to lose at all no matter what I did, in fact I was gaining weight. I became a vegetarian that spring - then began eating mostly vegan and I stopped gaining...but I still wasn't losing.
The more I've improved my diet, the more improvement I see in my health and now that I've started following the Eat To Live plan, I am seeing even more health progress and weight loss success! Woo Hoo!

My Program:
I am following the Eat to Live program. I am eating a vegan diet of veggies, fruit, beans, some nuts/seeds, limited grains and avoiding oil, sugar and salt.

I am aiming for a minimum of 30 minutes 5-7 days per week.

Personal Information:
I'm a 49 year old, happily married, mother of 3 grown children.

It was good to hear from you! Good luck with the bridal shower. I was doing pretty well with the challenge until the last two weeks and I had a small set back. Two weeks ago my husband and I took a short trip to Las Vegas, and then I had a house full of company for a few days. All of my kids but one - and all my siblings but one - came to visit for my daughter's senior recital and for a couple of other "goings on." Earlier this week I chaperoned the cheer team on a 3 day trip to Disneyland. I thought I did OK with food, but I gained. One more pound and the gain will be erased. As of today, I weigh 5 pounds less than the beginning of the challenge, and I lost 2 pounds the week before that, so I feel pretty good about that. How are you doing? Is your health holding up OK under the stress of planning weddings, etc.?
