I agree with your DD. When a dr does not have time nor the interest to figure out what is really going on when a patient has a problem, then it is time to get another. We are blessed with a very caring internist and if he sends us to a specialist (which DH seems to need more often than not) he is more than willing to recommend another if we do not feel good with the one he originally recommends. We had our gastro doc for several years, but his practice has grown so much that DH was just a number, calls weren't being returned, issues not addressed so, we have moved on to another who is a lot more caring. He confirmed our feeling that DH was misdiagnosed with Crohns and had he gotten on Humira or any other of those types of medicines it could have adversely affected him. Please be your own best advocate as I truly believe we know our bodies better than any dr-we live with it 24/7. Praying you get some answers and the dr will address all the issues you are having.
