Learning to love a new lifestyle!

I'm a single mom who gained weight in the past four years since I switched to a sedentary desk job. I'm facing a challenge trying to find healthy things to cook that my picky kids will eat, too. Also, finding time to exercise in our busy schedule is a bit challenging but I'm gonna make it work because it's so important! My Goals:
I want to lose about 30-40 pounds. I want to be more confident and be able to go shopping for clothes and actually like what I look like. I would also like to have a family portrait made and not look like Jabba the Hutt.

My Program:
I am trying to eat 1200 calories per day, drinking 8 cups of water per day, and exercising 3 times a week. Right now I'm starting out with the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds videos and some beginner's strenth-training exercises.

Personal Information:
I am a mom, first and foremost. My two daughters are everything to me and I want to teach them to be healthy and take care of themselves (and lots of other things!)

Other Information:
I enjoy reading, movies, music, and scrapbooking.
I find it challenging to balance my weight loss efforts with all my other daily chores and hobbies.

I'm doin...I have been able to get in exercise every day this week. I know It's hard for you but those DVD's are great!. I don't want to weight weekly it's depressing for me. So, I'm stickin to my mantra: Living a healthy lifestyle is wonderful and exciting, weight loss is an added bonus. (Its just not coming off like I think it should) but I do feel better and my clothes seem to fit better too. OH, Well. I will not give up, I'm just slow.
Yes, I will be there Sunday and I do have my Relay $$$ for you.

Thank you for your words of encouragement!! I went to the gym and I am feeling better. I tried to give myself some positive self talk but I feel like a cmplete novice when it comes to that. I hope you are doing well. Congrats on your 4.5 weight loss!!! Great job emoticon
