I'm a SAHM of 2. I've done a great job with my kids, so they're these wonderful, capable little people...that don't really need much from me at this stage in their lives. I'm kind of grappling with my sense of self and purpose and thought this would be a good way to start paying more attention to my own needs and help me develop some more self-centered goals.

Thanks for your comments. My dog, as far as we can tell, is a Lab/Border Collie mix. She is smaller than a Lab, only about 50 pounds and tends toward loose and lean. Rounder head also. She is a great companion for me and half my children love her. The others aren't as dog loving as the rest.
