Have a healthy summer, 5% at a time

Summer 2015: I am doing an 8 week 5% challenge. I have tried it before but have not had a lot of weight loss success, but have learned a few healthy habits. This time I am going to focus more on my mindful eating. I want to focus on living the good life (LTGL)

My Plan: I refuse to "go on a Diet" anymore. I spent about 25 years being overweight. It is crazy to think going on a 1 or 2 month �diet� will change me for the rest of the life. No fad or product will work either. In order to be healthy I need to change my lifestyle.

Therefore, I will put good foods into my body. It will make me physically and mentally healthy. I will not eat to cover emotions. I will rely on my friends and spouse. I will also be there when they need me. I may still enjoy less then healthy choices in moderation and when I do, it will be my choice to eat it not habit or emotions. I will also be more intentional and present in my day to make better choices.

How will I do this? I will make small changes until they become new habits. Simple things like eating healthy snacks, drinking less pop, and more veggies. I will buy healthy snacks, measure food until I am used to what a portion size is. I will get involved in physical activities. I will concentrate on what is positive and try to change the negative. I will not read magazines that reinforce negative images and read more books that promote my new goals. I will belong to supportive communities like Sparkpeople and its Sparkteams.

My Goals:
Mindful eating. I am going to review Fitfo0d challenge. I want to give my body the nutrition that it needs.

I love exercise. for fitness, i want to add more strength training and flexibility.

My Program:
I am active daily. I walk about 10 miles a week. I will do mental and physical challenges.

Mindful eating -This is the hardest for me. i have to rewire my entire brain for it.

Personal Information:
Married for 12 years no kids or pets

Other Information:
i am a mentally unfocused person so i find it hard to stay the course for a long time. I am working to be more present and focused.
