I've been trying for several years now to get healthy, but I haven't been that successful. I work a lot. I recently got a promotion, but it's now a desk job. I also am going to college. This fall I start my last semester. All the sitting is not helping my lifestyle.

I turned 30 this year and I am determined to make a more significant change. I seem to have plenty of knowledge, but the problem is willpower. I always make excuses for myself. I have an all or nothing attitude, which makes things worse. Hopefully, I can change that first. Well, wish me luck.

My Goals:
My current set of goals is to:
1) Login to SparkPeople every day. I need to make my health a priority and making time for SP every day is a start.
2) Exercise 3x per week for at least 10 min. Not much, but it is a start.
3) Stay away from fast food as much as possible. This tends to be my downfall. I need to make sure that I prepare better so that I don't feel like fast food is the only option.
4) Take my lunch to school on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.


My Program:
I need to work on making healthier food choices at work. I work in a kitchen, so this can be very difficult (especially because of our wonderful/evil pastry chef).

I am also going to try and avoid fast food more often because that is a huge problem for me. This means that I need to make sure that I prepare my lunches the night before and I need to go to the grocery store more often to make sure that I have plenty of healthy options at home.

I can't really exercise for very long right now because I am so out of shape. I do walk some on campus, but I need to make an effort to increase my activity daily. I have a new pedometer coming in the mail and will start tracking my steps.
