Fit to the Finish

I lost 150 pounds fourteen years ago and love to help other people lose weight and maintain it. I keep active by exercising regularly and watching my food intake! I have seven biological children, and also keep up a website at www.fittothefinish.com/blog where I chronicle my weight loss experience and post regularly. I've been on the Dr. Oz television show, in Shape magazine and featured in Woman's World. Living life at a healthy weight is so rewarding in many ways.

Love you blog and your "Secrets" on Dr. Oz were wonderful.

1) Use a kitchen timer, set it to 15 minutes when a craving/urge to eat comes on, and wait. Then re-evaluate whether you really need/want to eat.

2) Add a bathroom cupful of juice to water bottle, for flavor. Avoid drinking sugary beverages by themselves.

3) Rate food in social situations from 1-10. If it's a 10 (like chocolate, for example), eat a little bit and enjoy it. If it's not a 10, think about whether you really want/need to eat that little bit.
