In 2008 I started out the year with a weight loss goal and was on my way but I let myself fall off the wagon and stop dieting. I not only stopped losing weight but to my dismay ended up gaining a significant number of pounds. I am at my heaviest ever and am determined to lose 120 pounds in 2009.

UPDATE: Okay, so 2009 proved not to be the year I lose 120 pounds. I was on track through May but June-November saw me gain back 24 pounds I worked very hard to lose. Then I gained a whopping 5 pounds back in December. As of January 2010 I am starting to track my food again and get back on an exercise plan. My goal is to be under 200 by August 2010.

Clean slate:
I like keeping track of all the times I have stopped and started so it reminds me that I need to try harder. This time I am not dieting, I am not on a mission to lose X pounds - I am working on making a fundamental shift in my life. This has been a long time coming. I have moved to eating clean, whole foods since the birth of my first son and gradually I have made it so that all we eat is healthy, natural foods. I dont eat fast food anymore and, before getting pregnant with my 2nd son, I actually became a vegetarian. Now, I am just keeping my calories under 2000. I cant cut any more calories because I am nursing and do notice a drop in my supply if I eat around 1500 calories a day.

The really big shift was my decision to start running. On January 5, 2015 I simply downloaded the C25K app and walked out the door. I was expecting to work hard at keeping myself on track. To my surprise I discovered that I LOVE TO RUN. Now I run 3 x a week and signed up for a 5K. I took up biking as my cross training exercise and discovered I enjoyed that very much as well. On 2/4/15 I went and bought a decent hybrid bike. Now I am looking at signing up for duathlon in October and a half marathon in November at Disney. I am loving being active and discovered a whole new worlds of fitness that I did not realize existed. I am sure watching me run or bike is not a pretty sight but I am out there giving it my all and I am proud of myself for getting off my butt. 2015 is MY YEAR!! I owe it to myself and I owe it to my boys.

My Goals:
I want to be healthy and active for myself and to keep up with my sons.

My Program:
I eat between 1100-1500 calories a day. I work out 4 times a week. I am aiming to be at my goal weight by my next birthday in August 2015.

Personal Information:
I was born and raised in Miami, FL. I am still living here and work as an attorney.

Other Information:
I have a wonderful husband that encourages me every step of the way. He loves me the way I am and that has helped me make the decision to lose weight for myself. I have 2 young boys who light up my life and remind me that I need to take care of myself so that I can be the mother they deserve.
