Howdy and welcome to Spark People! I log on daily and read lots of blogs and updates and often reply to Spark Friends when they blog or post, so we can "friend" eachother and keep tabs. I have been here a year and four months, love it, have lost 60 pounds at last count, have 10 to go, and have gradually changed my lifestyle to a MUCH healthier one. I am quite a bit older than you but who cares? I lived in Englad for half a year many years ago and enjoy the culture (um, meaning BBC America). I am a typical American in many ways but atypical in others. As for giving you a kick when you need it, I am better known for a kinder, supportive approach - positive so self esteem improves. Glad to help any time! Also, I need encouragement often - it really, really helps me stick with the program. "Falling off" was always my biggest problem with "diets".
